Inverness Vacations Inverness Travel Overview
Inverness is the largest town of the Highlands and is located some 160 miles north of Edinburgh. Although Inverness is an old historic town -the castle of MacBeth was here- there is not a lot to see nowadays. The Balnain House is the only real attraction in town. Inverness is however a good base for exploring the Highlands. Cawdor Castle is only 12 miles away. Culloden Moor the site of the last pitched battle on British soil and Cairns a neolithic burial sit are even closer. Another attraction is of course the lake of Loch Ness. Summer cruises leave from Inverness depart from Tomnahurich bridge. Source: world66.com
